OURCELIUM is an agender, circular capsule wardrobe inspired by three European cities — Berlin, Bologna, and Barcelona — and co-designed by three emerging fashion designers, each representing one of these cultural hubs. Developed within the ARCA – AgendeR Circular Apparel project, this collection reflects a shared vision of inclusive, sustainable and collaborative fashion.

This collection emerged from an intensive collaborative process between three selected emerging designers: Adaobim F. Ezeoke (Bologna), Magdalena Stüve (Berlin), and Laura Corberò (Barcelona). United by a clear mission, they created a 6-piece capsule wardrobe that is simultaneously agender, circular, and multifunctional – with each piece drawing inspiration from the rich cultural DNA of their respective cities.
What is Agender clothing?

Agender fashion moves beyond traditional gender norms. Designed to be inclusive and wearable by all bodies, it centers self-expression over binary categories. Unlike genderless or unisex fashion – which still assumes a binary norm – agender clothing actively challenges those limitations.
What is a Capsule Wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe is a curated set of versatile, multifunctional garments that can be mixed and matched across seasons and settings. It offers a more sustainable approach to dressing, focusing on quality, flexibility, and waste reduction, rather than constant consumption and a wardrobe full of 4,99€ t-shirts.
Why is it circular?

This collection is circular by design:
  • No wasteful production processes
  • Pattern-making and construction that reduce fabric waste
  • Fabric suggestions that encourage upcycling and reuse
Each garment can be made from regenerated textiles, and the design is built for longevity, modularity, and adaptability. Circularity here is not just a technical detail, it’s a creative and ethical principle.
Explore, Learn, Reimagine

Alongside the collection, we’re developing an open-source digital tutorial: a practical and accessible resource designed to share our process and invite others to build on it.

You’ll be able to:
  • Learn the fundamentals of circular and inclusive fashion
  • Recreate or modify the garments using patterns, how-to guides, and fabric suggestions
  • Explore business modeling, marketing, and communication strategies — ideal for emerging designers, micro brands, and creatives (not just in fashion)
  • Engage with non-binary design narratives, or simply explore new ways of thinking and making
Scroll through the lookbook and download the full collection PDF for a closer look at the garments, materials, and concepts behind OURCELIUM.

Stay tuned for the tutorial and more updates soon.

chapter1
Rooted in connection. Grown through collaboration.

The core visual and conceptual inspiration for the collection came from mycelium — the underground root-like network of fungi that sustains ecosystems through interconnection, regeneration, and invisible labor. Mycelium became a metaphor for community-driven change: active beneath the surface, resilient, and deeply connected. Fungi also inspired the project on another level: their natural gender fluidity challenges binary norms, making them a perfect symbol for a collection rooted in agender and inclusive design.
chapter1
Modularity, Movement, and Meaning

The final result is a six-piece capsule wardrobe designed for flexibility and multifunctionality — built to adapt across seasons, contexts, and expressions. Every piece is a tool for customisation, practicality, and reduced impact, reflecting the belief that buying less and using more is not only possible but essential.

OURCELIUM is not for sale — it's open-source: patterns, tutorials, and fabric suggestions will be made available to download and adapt, following ARCA's open design approach. This way, the process becomes democratic, accessible, and rooted in shared knowledge.

The collection is a tribute to the grassroots movements shaping our cities — often unseen, yet vital. Like mycelium, they weave change underground.

Textile choices for a circular future

The fabric selection behind OURCELIUM is more than a technical decision — it’s a commitment to sustainability, reusability, and accessibility. Every material used in the collection prototyping and testing is sourced with circularity in mind, balancing performance, comfort, and environmental impact.

The wardrobe prototype has been built around recycled and regenerated fabrics, including repurposed denim, parachute textiles, and nylon. These materials came from reclaimed garments or surplus stocks and were selected for their ability to be used again: reworked, reimagined, or returned to the cycle.
You'll notice details like:
  • Recycled denim made in Spain, sourced from post-consumer garments. Thank you Infinit Denim
  • Parachute fabric given a second life, transformed into soft, durable outerwear and accessories. Donated by Strip-air
  • Cotton-elastane jersey, offering both comfort and structure for layered pieces. The fabric is made from recycled cotton sourced in Spain and originally part of a deadstock
  • 100% nylon fabric, also retrieved from deadstock supplies
  • Lilac and black stitching, used throughout the collection to create a shared visual language
  • Modular embroidery and textile accents, with references to the urban identities of Berlin, Bologna, and Barcelona
Each piece is designed not just to last, but to evolve: through customisation, adaptation, and conscious care.
The full fabric breakdown, along with suggestions on where and how to source similar materials, can be found in the open-source tutorial.

The goal is not just to wear OURCELIUM, but to interpret it, adapt it, and make it your own.
Explore full styling instructions, tips, and layering ideas in the open-source tutorial.
